Reviews
As a photographer who has enjoyed Avedon's portraits for many years, this book provided excellent insight into his working style and how he engaged his subjects during this lengthy project. The combination of his portraits and Wilson's behind the scenes photos provided a rarely seen view of a great artist at work. The coverage of the failures as well as the successes was particularly refreshing. I found it to be well-written and some of the stories were quite touching.
